Rodent Pest Control Enquiry Form
The most common nuisance rodents found around the gold Coast and Tweed Heads are the Black Rat, the Brown Rat and the House Mouse. These vermin typically live in groups, in nests, constructed of soft materials such as paper, fabrics and insulation. Their nests can be found in wall and roof voids, under floors and in and around stored goods, typically near a source of water.
In addition to their ability to cause significant property damage, rodent infestations pose a serious health risk to humans due to their ability to transmit diseases to humans by a variety of means.
Surekil Pest Control’s expert technicians manage rodents for industrial plant, construction sites, shopping centres, schools, aged care facilities, cafes, restaurants and homes across Southeast QLD and Northern NSW.

The most common signs of rodent activity are droppings, gnaw marks, rub marks or nests.
The faecal droppings of mice are typically 30 – 60mm long and pointed, for the Norway rat, droppings are between 120mm – 180mm and blunt, Roof rat droppings are 120mm – 190mm, shiny and pointed.
Gnaw marks about 4mm long are typically from rats whilst smaller scratch marks are a sign of mice.
Rodents are attracted to areas that provide food, water, and shelter. Subfloors, roof voids, sheds and areas with a lot of stored goods are perfect.
Rats and mice prefer to consume fruits, nuts and seeds but are omnivorous and will feed on almost anything available to them including meat, fish, flour, grains, vegetables and anything a human will eat.
Young mice can squeeze through gaps of about a 5 mm, whilst rats can squeeze through a hole of about 13mm in diameter.
No. The roof rat, also known as the black rat, nests inside and under buildings, or in piles of rubbish or wood.
